An intensive one week course on writing for children, from fun picture books for pre-schoolers  to stimulating books for teens. This non-residential adult education course is tutored by children's author, Paeony Lewis.

Children's Writers and Illustrators Conference
Robinson College, Cambridge
Run by the Society of Authors, this is a great conference for both members and non-members. It's best suited to those already published or about to be.

Frankfurt Book Fair
One of the big events in the publishing calendar.

23-26 March 2009
Bologna Book Fair
The biggest event of the year for children's publishing. Expect editors and agents to busy around this time.

20-22 April 2009
London Book Fair
Not as important for children's publishers as Bologna, but still a busy time for agents and editors
